FINLEY is an expert bridge design firm with 25 staff 1 full-time marketing director who is responsible for both marketing and business development. Our advertising budget is $5,000 annually and we rely very heavily on article placement, eBlasts, and social media campaigns.
FINLEY successfully competes with much larger firms who deliver complex bridge design and who have a significantly larger marketing budget and staff.
External tendons and diabolos were banned by State Department of Transportation owners. FINLEY successfully re-introduced this concept in the Section 5 Palmetto project. (Exhibit F). We pitched this topic because of our success in getting the alternative technical concept approved by FDOT.
The FHWA Task 5009 Sub-Task 3 on Replaceable External Grouted Post-Tensioning Tendons is currently developing specification language related to diabolos that will be balloted for inclusion in the industry specification PTI/ASBI M50.3-12: Guide Specification for Grouted Post-Tensioning. This article has been referenced to by industry experts. (noted in article).
As a result of this article, we secured a teaming with a new client as the bridge engineer for Design-Build pursuit, a $120 million dollar project from one of our eBlasts (Exhibit G). In Design-Build projects, constructability must be built into the design.
We believe we should win because FINLEY has demonstrated that the industry recognizes that we are the bridge design experts in the use of technology, constructability and adding value on structurally challenging bridge projects.
