Creative Brief
Corderman & Company is the founding sponsor of the Usher Syndrome Society, a non-profit that raises awareness and funds for Usher syndrome, the most common genetic cause of combined and progressive deafness and blindness. Two of David Corderman’s children have this rare disease that presently has no cure or treatment. Our company has been deeply involved in the nonprofit’s mission since their founding in 2012.
As a construction company in Boston for 23 years, C&Co has established relationships with a multitude of buildings throughout the city. In an effort to spread awareness of Usher syndrome to the public and professionals in Boston, the C&Co team reached out to building managers to inquire about displaying the Shine a Light on Usher Syndrome Portrait Exhibit in their lobbies. Ultimately, four notable buildings graciously hosted this exhibit. Corderman volunteers coordinated extensively with management teams, as well as handled exhibit set-up, breakdown, tabling, and related events.
This campaign required the development of a variety of marketing materials to advertise the exhibit and share information. This included half-page brochures, info poster boards, full-page instructions for an interactive event, two blog posts on the C&Co website, several social media posts, and purchasing and distributing cookies to engage building tenants and the public as they explored the exhibit. As an expression of gratitude to our building contacts, the campaign was completed with a thank you gift to each of the people who offered their time and effort in helping to make this otherwise invisible disease visible.
