A Legacy of Culture and Care

70  years ago, GH Phipps Construction Companies was founded upon philanthropic and civic involvement. The Phipps family worked hard to improve the community, leaving a legacy of culture and care in Colorado. Today, the mission of GH Phipps reflects the legacy left by our founder Gerald H. Phipps and is the foundation for many of our programs, including our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Plan

In 2021, our team was introduced to the concept of establishing an official Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) plan. With research, we discovered that females in construction = 11%  (per U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). Understanding that LGBTQ data was less reliable due to underreporting, we confidently launched our new DEI plan in October 2021 - just in time to participate in Construction Inclusion Week.

Embracing the Culture of Care’s “Time for Change,” our team educated our employees on the following:

·         Community Engagement & Philanthropy

Making an A/E/C Industry Impact

It’s no secret that our industry has room to grow within DEI. GH Phipps is proud to have taken an open-minded leadership role, learning and growing as we go. An affirming indicator of success happened in December 2022, when we received a request for DEI mentorship/consultation from another A/E/C firm. We don’t expect to have all the DEI answers, but we aspire to keep our hearts open to seeking them.
