architecture 5 10 20 is a podcast—hosted by Guy Geier, Managing Partner at FXCollaborative—focusing on the future of the built environment. The podcast takes a forward-looking approach to discussing the built environment, architecture, interior design, planning, and related topics such as technology, engineering, education, and business management. Each episode provides a different response to the question: how do industry professionals see the built environment evolving in 5, 10, 20 years?

The podcast is a collaborative effort between Guy and the FXCollaborative marketing team, who lead the production, including recording and editing each interview, writing intro and outro pieces, and publicizing the show on social media. As a team, we strategize how to expand the show’s reach and use it to connect with industry peers, thought leaders, and potential clients. As a comprehensive, multi-tactic, ongoing campaign, the podcast has led new audiences to engage with FXCollaborative’s work and promoted the firm’s mission and ideas. The campaign has included a combination of media through audio, social media, and digital media.

The podcast began with the goal of exploring the medium by releasing monthly episodes for one year and achieving 50-70 downloads per episode. The success of the show has greatly exceeded these goals. architecture 5 10 20 is now in its third season and averages 144 downloads for each monthly episode. In 2023, the podcast joined SURROUND, a podcast network by Sandow Publishing, which has boosted downloads by 10% and led to additional press placements.
