The Modern Mobility Podcast began in spring 2021 out of Keli Kemp and Kirsten Mote’s bedroom closets. Since then, they have co-hosted 15 podcast episodes, ranging from 45 minutes to 1 hour and 20 minutes, albeit still out of their bedroom closets!  Keli came up with the idea to give back to the planning community and share a wealth of knowledge from the staff at Modern Mobility Partners with the rest of the world. The podcast provides how-to’s for planners tackling complicated and complex transportation issues. Episode topics include how to plan for new and emerging technologies, increasing e-commerce, resiliency, micromobility, and equity, just to name a few. It is available anywhere podcasts are available, including Apple Podcast, Spotify, PodBean, Pandora, Amazon Music, Amazon Echo Tune In, Google Podcasts, and iHeart Radio. To date, the podcast has reached over 4,200 downloads in 56 countries. 

The American Planning Association (APA) approved the podcast series for American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) credits, and all 15 episodes are now eligible for listeners to obtain their AICP credits. 

The show is entering its third season and has become a tremendous marketing tool for Modern Mobility Partners. Staff have the opportunity to bring their knowledge and expertise onto the show as guest hosts. This provides great training for speaking engagements for staff and helps elevate their brand in the industry. The firm has advanced its image as an industry leader with episodes that focus on current challenges and offer real solutions.
