Creative Brief
For over 30 years, EXP has been providing engineering and design solutions to the themed entertainment industry. Amid fierce competition, brand visibility and innovation are critical to client acquisition/retention, maintaining market share and candidate recruiting.
The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) hosts the world's largest amusement trade show, bringing 38,000+ attendees to the Orlando area. Maximizing this opportunity, EXP hosts an annual, unofficial IAAPA party at a local venue to network and market EXP’s solutions to decision-makers through a unique and intimate branded experience.
Capitalizing on important historical events and new themed adventures, such as the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo moon landing and Disney’s Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, space was a natural the theme.
EXP’s brand identity was integrated into the venue to create a galactic sensory experience, accompanied by purposeful lighting and multimedia. Installations served as windows into the vastness of space, offering views from a spaceship’s cabin, with drifting asteroids and stars shapeshifting into iconography representing EXP services.
To differentiate hosts from guests, designers customized branded name badges with a graphic legend for context of EXP’s mission and the services we provide. Hosts wore custom, futuristic Planet EXP pins (because pin culture is everything in the entertainment industry!). Guests received branded takeaways, including pins, an admissions ticket and an LED lanyard that changed colors to glow inside the venue.
In the galactic-themed venue, attendees were inspired by the infinite entertainment opportunities discussed in the atmosphere of space and EXP proudly declared “mission accomplished.”
