The existing Fanning Howey website had all the problems of a 10-year-old platform. Creating a new, mobile-friendly website wasn’t going to be good enough. To meet Fanning Howey’s aggressive marketing goals, the new website needed to reposition the architecture and engineering firm as a leader in the design of learning environments.
Market research showed that some clients viewed Fanning Howey as an “older” firm lacking in innovation. The home page puts Fanning Howey’s best work front and center, with a message of the firm being leaders in eight different building types and one service line.
Research showed that many clients did not understand the breadth of Fanning Howey’s design expertise. The new website identifies additional areas of expertise in athletics, pools, performing arts and college and career facilities. The website also includes an expertise page for pre-bond services, a key part of how Fanning Howey wins work in Indiana and Ohio.
The Firm section puts team members and culture front and center, a first for Fanning Howey. The Insights section launched the firm’s thought leadership program. The Contact page embraces the unique character of the firm’s three locations. The custom-designed Content Management System allows Fanning Howey to make major adjustments internally.
After 18 months in operation, the new website has increased site traffic by 42 %, and potential clients routinely comment on the quality of the site. Win rates increased by 79 % since the site’s launch, and fees won increased by 240 % from 2018 to 2019.
