Creative Brief
Following the successful revitalization of expresso, EXP’s premium client and employee magazine, we carefully selected convergence as the next editorial theme. By bringing together a diverse set of people, ideas, technology, engineers and architects, we would write about how our team is able to concentrate our efforts on one focal point – the project.
Urban population trends place demands on our utilities and infrastructure. Agricultural production and rural lifestyle can come into conflict with suburban expansion. Transporting resources could have unintended environmental consequences. Competing interests abound.
To tackle the unique needs of our clients, we would demonstrate how we bring together different skills, disciplines and design options to offer innovative solutions that best reflect their stated goals. At EXP, convergence is vital to project success and expresso would highlight how it lives in all that we do.
To achieve the dual purpose of the magazine, serving internal and external audiences, each story was authored by EXP employees, from their perspective, reflecting their experience with the client and on the project. For example, Doug Stewart recounted how his team developed unique project management processes for a new medical center, Steve Cormier told us about generations of his family that have worked on different phases of the same project, and Éric Bellavance detailed how we look after our neighbors with innovative noise mitigation.
This issue effectively showcased how our people are shaping the future of what it means to be a community, through the convergence of engineering, architecture and construction.
