Our country themed State of the Union event was designed to motivate and encourage Southeast District employees to push the district to new levels in 2018. The main purpose was to inspire our audience and create buzz surrounding the recently awarded work in Nashville and the successes of the last year, as well as the goals for the future. Hensel Phelps’ Southeast District hosted the State of The Union in the early months of the new year – in 2018 they decided to try something new instead of a traditional Saturday Morning Breakfast Meeting. In the past, the SOTU took place at 7 AM on a Saturday in a dark conference room with a PowerPoint developed with little to no design. Switching the event to a Friday night and introducing music, drinks, dinner, inviting significant others and free babysitting set the tone from the get-go. Custom collateral was released leading up to the event to drive attendance and generate buzz. The presentation was chock full of informative content regarding how the company did in 2017, plans for 2018 and beyond, and mixed in with Hensel Phelps trivia and amazing prizes. We can’t forget about the lasso competition, best dressed prizes, awards for the best Quality of Life plans!
This unique and well-planned event was very successful at generating excitement, increasing attendance and motivating our employees to push to new limits in 2018. Our 2nd Annual State of the Union event is currently being planned for March 2019!
