Creative Brief
In 2017, RS&H began the transition to a new intranet to remain competitive in our industry. With a focus on improved knowledge sharing, we identified a social-networking based platform called Synthesis by Knowledge Architecture that would help our employees find information and communicate across geographic boundaries, business units, disciplines, and more.
We knew moving from a legacy intranet system rooted in our organizational structure to a social-networking platform organized by user functionality would be a significant change for employees. Thus, we developed a robust, multi-channel launch campaign that would take place during migration effort through launch. The campaign responded to results from a communications survey and was delivered through several creative strategies, such as a naming contest (Blaze), logo vote, posters, mug giveaway, welcome video, early adopters phase, helpful resources and tools, launch week engagement activities, and more.
The main goals of the launch campaign were to create awareness of the new platform, Blaze, and site structure before launch, as well as to engage and excite associates with new functionality. On launch day, the hard work and strategic planning paid off. We brought the firm together through our launch week challenges and began communicating across boundaries. By providing a platform for increased knowledge-sharing, Blaze even helped generate new work with a client on the very first day.
We accomplished our goals and continue to hear positive feedback about Blaze. Our analytics and the continued employee-driven dialogue on the platform are a testament to the campaign’s success.
