On November 14th, 2022, Farnsworth Group revolutionized our intranet with the launch of Farnsworth360. This platform replaced the dated 2004 intranet, which provided little more than a digital file cabinet. We built an interactive communication hub allowing, for the first time ever, to access firmwide news, search an extensive database of essential files, and collaborate in new ways. The result was a staggering 99,462 page views in the first four months, highlighting its immediate impact and success.
It began with an internal problem. How do we get 513 employees spread across 26 offices, multiple disciplines, and markets to feel connected & informed?
We then tackled an external problem. After our initial meetings with the intranet developer, we learned they only provide the platform and general direction. So it would be up to our team to build the intranet, much like receiving Legos and being told to build something.
Overcoming these challenges is why our team is award-worthy. Unlike a typical website design, where a developer would do everything for you, each of our department leaders learned the software and built the pages themselves. This eliminated communication bottlenecks and gave each leader the tools to evolve and adapt pages moving forward. By equipping our leadership team with these technical skills, we ensured every department was invested in the platform’s success from day one.
Today, Farnsworth360 averages 1,117 daily pageviews and features fresh content from every department. We accomplished our goal of providing a 360-degree look at what’s happening around the firm.
