In April 2022, AKRF embarked on a multidimensional campaign to promote PinDrop – our new 2,500-s.f. sound simulation and audiovisual suite in Manhattan. The campaign targeted three audiences: property owners, developers, and tenants; architects; and technology vendors. By following a detailed Marketing Action Plan, including a corresponding Publicity Plan, these efforts helped AKRF secure six clients and $450,000 in revenue bookings the first six months of operation.
AKRF began its promotional campaign by offering The New York Times an exclusive tour and demo of PinDrop, which culminated in “A Room in Midtown is Quietly Fighting the Battle Against City Noise” in the Real Estate section. The online version included audio clips produced by AKRF. We then welcomed a stream of reporters into PinDrop for subsequent articles published by the Associated Press, Fast Company, Crain’s Business, amNY, Construct Connect, CoStar News, and others. AKRF was also interviewed by The Trend podcast.
Other elements of this multi-tactic promotional campaign included an e-blast to 950 architects, starting a live-listening AEC Audiophile Music Club with guests from architectural firms HOK and Marvel, and partnering with PinDrop technology vendors on cross-promotional social media efforts. We were featured by Genelec in their Instagram Live “Tech Tuesday” series and collaborated with Kinetics and Noise Barriers on their posts about PinDrop.
Additionally, our marketing team designed and fabricated a removable metal door sign for PinDrop, designed a PinDrop logo currently being trademarked, and produced an animated demo video about PinDrop in Adobe After Effects and Blender.
