Boldt, a nationally ranked construction services firm, didn’t grow from a once-small carpentry shop to a nationally ranked $1-billion company by chance. It happened with 130+ years of innovative spirit, strong partnerships, and all-grit problem solving. A couple years ago, we were faced with balancing tradition, honoring the recent passing of our third-generation leader, Oscar C. Boldt, and ushering in new leadership with a strong vision for the future. A brand evolution was in order.
With a culture of continuous improvement, we’re known for innovation and Lean practices. Our dated color palette and muted voice did not reflect that or our story of transformation.
A collaborative, cross-functional team worked with Blue Door Consulting, a marketing firm, to get to the heart of Boldt’s brand, revealing positioning, articulating voice and messaging, and constructing a visual identity aligned with culture, from the inside out.
Retaining Boldt’s name and logo, Build Boldly modernizes the look and tone of Boldt’s brand to reflect our performance-driven approach, moving from a tone of “quiet confidence” to “bold humility,” aligned with our:

The evolved brand uses sweeping imagery to convey how Boldt looks at construction uniquely. The colors are strong and minimalistic, with a less-is-more design sensibility and black-and-white primary palette to focus the story on the work making the world better
