In 1999, HLB Lighting Design created a news mailer called ‘HLB Focus’ which was sent to clients monthly via snail mail to inform them of all happenings at the firm. In the early 2000’s, the Public Relations efforts came to a halt when our marketing team restructured. Fast forward to 2016, the team wanted to revamp the PR efforts and start fresh, piggybacking off of the idea of the 90s, but transforming it into something web-based that’s both educational and informative. What really got our creative wheels spinning was the notion of keeping our material fun, conversational, and engaging to our industry peers.
While our Boston-based Senior Marketing Coordinator spearheaded this effort, it was no secret that it couldn’t be done alone! Internal communication and coordination was crucial with calendar appointments constantly being coordinated for deadlines, meetings, and monthly execution. Our team is fully equipped to tackle this monthly newsletter like a well-oiled machine. HLB thrives on teamwork in every aspect of its business. The marketing employees who manage the company brand, website, PR, and social media efforts come together on a weekly basis to strategize on what’s next. The HLB SpotLIGHT is an ongoing endeavor that empowers employees across the nation to join in on the thought leadership that lies behind the newsletter, allowing our PR champion to collaborate with design and administrative teammates alike. Strong focuses on five main hashtag campaigns have been the anchors to this marketing endeavor: #HLBProjects, #HLBNews, #HLBThoughtLeadership, #HLBPeople, and #TrendingAtHLB.
