In 2016 Hickok Cole Architects (HCA) launched the yearlong campaign, called "Elevate," aimed to position the firm as design-centric and cutting edge thought leaders that are furthering (or "Elevating") the discourse on all things architecture and design. The cornerstone of the campaign was a focus on imagery, topics, and processes pervasive in the industry, aiming to catch the eye of design-centric clients around the Washington, DC metro region. The firm, for example, used its blog heavily as a vehicle to spread these ideas and start a discussion, further elevating the discourse on design.
The graphic language of the campaign was decidedly understated in its execution. A light and airy graphic language included a color palette that incorporated the 2016 Pantone Colors of the Year (Rose Quartz and Serenity Blue), which lent themselves well to an "Elevate" campaign. Images of clouds and blue skies complemented the campaign, suggesting that the "sky is the limit" when considering Hickok Cole for its design services.
