As we continue to grow and set high standards for new employees, collaboration between HR, recruiting and marketing must happen to attract the right candidates to persuade them to join Schaefer. Our single most expensive promotional initiative, we spent days dissecting what’s most important to professionals in our target age/experience groups to make the greatest impact possible for our first professionally-produced video.
This project required a high attention to detail to review footage for keywords and flow, and efficient scheduling to get all of the shots and interviews we knew we needed within the 2.5 day schedule set in our contract to keep the project on budget.
The final product met our original objectives and accurately reflects our brand and what it’s really like to work at Schaefer. We have seen a return on our investment with 30% more submitted resumes in the two months following the publish date and seven new employees in just six months. The video continues to drive steady traffic to our site, and 31% of those viewers click directly to our job posting page. We’ve received countless compliments internally, and HR continues to receive comments on it during the interview process.
Our video process was a textbook marketing plan – specific objects led to robust research and planning that dictated necessary messaging that was executed and has returned in a quantitative way. Everything was calculated, based on the research we had completed. All this while working across departments with multiple stakeholders!
