Orcutt | Winslow’s 2017 Holiday piece pays homage to tradition and offered the opportunity to speak to our
firm’s foundation. It was our challenge to our friends to: “participate in one of our traditions: create a beautiful design that you can share with others.” It was our hope that the guiding principles of orcutt | winslow could reestablish a connection with our personnel and our history within architecture. Thought Process This holiday piece was based on one theme: nostalgia. From the tradition of card-giving, to reminicense of Christmas trees, to the warmth of crafting something from nothing— nostalgia was subtly present in this gift from orcutt | winslow to our friends.
• We wanted the piece to be interactive and something more than a card.
• We wanted a piece that someone might take home as a decoration, keep at their desk or pass to someone else, and act as a touch point to orcutt | winslow while spreading holiday cheer.
• Materials were selected to reinforce the concept of the card, revolving around tradition. French paper company which has a 140 year history and sustainability of being one of the finest paper companies in the US, spanning 6 generations.
