As an acoustical and low-voltage technology consulting firm, the goal of our holiday video is to communicate our firm’s guiding principle of being helpful to clients, so they know who to call when they need help. We strove to not only spread holiday cheer, but also to show a personable side to our business. “Your videos do such a great job of showing your firm’s personality from the top down,” a client expressed. Our holiday video sought to underscore the individual talents of our employees in the context of our collective work.
To achieve our goals, we parodied the Ghostbusters movie trailers to appeal to the humorous side of the audience and reinforce that we are fun to work with, technically skilled, and always available to help. To make our video stand out, we did not work in silos of marketing and technical staff, but instead combined our diverse perspectives. We chose video as our medium bolstered with newly recorded music to strategically play to the strengths of our staff members’ video and musical talents. By demonstrating more than our technical expertise, we hoped to differentiate ourselves by poking fun at our work and showing we are a fun addition to project teams. As one client remarked, “It is so refreshing to meet an expert who sees themselves and the profession with humor.” In contrast to the serious tone of many holiday pieces, we took a risk by creating a silly, entertaining parody, which our clients appreciated.
