Building on the momentum of our 2015 newsletter rebranding, our team chose to use each edition to highlight an employee group along with one of PENTA’s core company values for our monthly approach in 2016. The quality and quantity of our submitted content increased, and something unexpected took place.
As each team highlighted its specific roles – including field and office employees across the company – the newsletter became a vehicle for those teams to educate others on the importance of what they do for PENTA, for our clients, and for others in the company. In fact, following the issue focused on our Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) department, the QA/QC Managers thanked us for helping to get across the importance of following Quality Control procedures. Overall, our employees expressed appreciation for sharing details about roles within the firm they either hadn’t understood fully or weren’t previously aware of.
Another newsletter initiative introduced in 2016 resulted in floods of incredible images from across PENTA’s job-sites. This year introduced a Photo of the Month competition, which caught on quickly. We received over 50 photos in 12 months from more than 35 PENTA participants – many of which we are now able to use in proposals to back our project and process narratives. Field and office support staff captured moments in construction from a creative marketing perspective. Each month’s winner received a $50 gift card, with the photo of the year winner receiving a new 35mm SLR digital camera kit.
