As we prepared to launch a new office, in a market where it was important that we made an impressive entry, we wanted to create a physical brochure with major wow factor. We wanted the audience we were targeting for the event and in our ongoing business development plan, to see LandDesign as a fresh alternative to long standing local competition.
Prior to creating the book, we had typically marketed our work by project type or service, which often meant we were leaving our biggest differentiator, our ability to work across markets and at a variety of scales, out of the conversation. Rather than creating a book that was a compilation of project types, we organized the work by different kinds of places that matter, so as to align our work with our new brand voice. This allowed us to define why our work is important to us, and the community, at the start of each section.
Having invested in a brand refresh and new photography as part of our website redesign process, we had a great toolkit in place to translate to a printed piece. Our marketing team was able to produce the book in less than three weeks to have books printed for the event. Since then, the books have become a popular tool, as leadership and employees are proud to show them off. We especially love visiting our client’s offices and seeing them on desks and coffee tables, often with tabs and bookmarks.
