McKim & Creed is an employee-owned firm fostering an entrepreneurial atmosphere that empowers every employee to reach beyond usual expectations toward incredible achievements. The firm's leaders are honest and transparent, sharing the firm's financial stability and health with employees annually.
For the past several years, the marketing team has created an annual report that celebrates employees and THEIR accomplishments and communicates operational performance. The annual report is printed and distributed to all 23 offices for each employee and our board of directors.
This year, a worldwide pandemic caused offices across our company's footprint to transition to a remote working environment to keep our employee-owners safe. This transition from the office to home in March of 2020 impacted the annual report distribution, so the marketing team had to reimagine how we packaged and delivered the annual report.
Our team took a hybrid approach. We recognized the value of the printed version and a digital book version delivered to employee's inboxes.
The annual report recognizes employee accomplishments, communicates our business's health, and is used to recruit new employees to the firm. With a new digital format, the HR team could email new employee-owners a digital version to support recruiting and onboarding. There was an increase with 11 new stock purchasers signifying our business's financial health—regardless of the pandemic recession—and $1MM in stocks purchased! Lastly, the company had less than 1% voluntary turnover—indicating a high confidence level for the future communicated in the annual report.
