The year 2020 was defined by COVID-19, from adapting to remote working and coping with a pandemic to virtually connecting with friends and discovering new hobbies. FPBA aimed to encapsulate this one-of-a-kind year into a holiday card.
FPBA's holiday piece plays off of society’s collective embrace of remote working with an interactive experience that emulates a Zoom meeting. The webpage displays a gallery view of all FPBA employees, where visitors can hover over and click on employee to watch their reflection of 2020. This allowed every employee to participate while giving the target audience the ability to pick which videos they wanted to watch, whether it be the team members they most often worked with or simply an employee they wanted to get to know better.
Each video offers a glimpse into the life of an FPBA employee as they answer various questions about the year 2020. This not only served as a point of human connection for FPBA's clients/consultants/industry partners, but it also inspired employees to engage with each other after 9 months of working remotely.
This complex project required interviewing and recording employees via Zoom, video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro, mocking up the web design in Adobe XD, coding in Visual Studio Code, and bringing the code into FPBA's website. The result was a first-of-its-kind interactive webpage that garnered loads of positive feedback, received the most single-day pageviews and highest click rate in FPBA history, and captured a historic year that serves as a time capsule.
