LJA Surveying became its own company under the LJA umbrella in January 2018. With a new identity, came new branding and messaging meant to emphasize the proactive expertise and adventurous nature of our surveying team. After several collaborative sessions with key stakeholder, both staff and clients, their personal call-to-arms emerged within their vision statement, “We’re ready for what’s next, whatever it takes.” This vision is robustly supported by their unique mission: “Within our jobs, we are not only surveyors, but passionate adventurers, historians, researchers, preservationists, conservationists, and even, maybe most importantly, protectors. What we do is inherently entangled in who we are and why we love it. We deeply appreciate the history of each and every piece of land, serving its best use with accurate data and documentation, and stewarding the impact of our work for future generations.” Marketing and Business Development efforts were intentionally created with thought and purpose to grow LJA Surveying’s brand mindfulness throughout Texas (project leads/clients) and grow their crew capacity (recruiting/employees). Within two years, LJA Surveying has grown from 65 to 145 employee-owners, from 4 to 10 offices, and from 14 to 33 field crews. These are real numbers and a testament to the true partnership between technical capabilities and marketing–something that every AEC firm struggles with. LJA Surveying has authentically built a business model where marketing is key to their culture and success. They deserve to be recognized for these efforts and results. So successful in 2019 that we are continuing in 2020.
