Creative Brief
As an employee-owned firm, transparency and communication is at our core. Because our firm has nearly doubled in size in five years ($50 million to $100 million), leadership realized that the intranet [PORTAL] was obsolete. The PORTAL did not provide a centralized location for company information, policies, resources, staff directory, or news. It was not accessible by 43% (260 of 600) of employees who are field staff.
The Marketing and IT teams built the intranet using the Sharepoint platform. The PORTAL is now accessible to 100% of staff. Employees can now access updated company-wide news and easily find the resources they’re searching for all in one, central location, easily accessible on mobile devices, anytime, anywhere.
Marketing developed a campaign using the following messages to communicate to employee-owners the new benefits and features of the PORTAL site and to increase the usage and awareness of the site.
· RECONNECT – highlights a company directory, employee birthdays and anniversaries, departmental pages, and more.
· RESOURCED – highlights the resources available to employees, such as: forms, templates, company news and more.
· REDFINED – celebrates our culture, core values, charitable events, employee-ownership and strategic plan, and more.
· REMOBILIZED – informs employees how to access the new site on their mobile devices.
Overall, the intranet site reduced the burden on support staff (Human Resources, Accounting, Information Technology) and they now experience a decrease in the number of phone calls, emails, and helpdesk tickets from employees searching for information.
