Creative Brief
The Dunn Well Dunn Safely newsletter is a key representation of JE Dunn’s commitment to making a positive difference in the health of our employees and their families and creating an environment that encourages employees to be active in their communities. The previous health newsletter was outdated and did not meet JE Dunn branding guidelines, as it was created by human resources. We also had a safety newsletter that was created by safety, so it was not up to our editorial standards as a company. The combination of these two concepts of health and wellness and safety support our new guiding principle which is meant to encompass both: “We Believe in Health and Well Being”. We used in-house expertise to create a sophisticated design with original content.
Collaboration among design, communication, safety, and human resource/benefits teams was crucial in ensuring the project successfully met our goals of informing the target audience while also motivating them to participate in our health programs and prioritize safety on and off the job site. The chosen photographs represent learning opportunities in positive, friendly settings. There is an inviting, professional tone throughout, with easy-to-read content in a layout that is ideal for quick reference.
The final product is versatile and used by various JE Dunn departments. It is also mailed to homes so the entire family can read it and get necessary health/benefits information and home safety tips. Results have proven successful as we see increased utilization by employees and dependents at JE Dunn.
